Novel coatings techniques are boosting medical device industrie and innovation. In this speech different study cases will be presented to show the importance of selecting a high-end characterization technique to confirm the surface coating or cleaning.
Novel coatings techniques (chemical treatment, lasers, microblasting treatment…) are boosting medical device industry and innovation. More technical, more thick, more specific, more complex, there are nowadays different high-end techniques that can help to understand their behavior and how to better use them in different situations, and for different applications.
Different study cases will be presented to show the importance of selecting a high-end characterization technique to confirm the surface coating or cleaning where classical SEM technique appears to be insufficient :
- Assessment of the uniformity of a coating on a surface of a medical device by using AFM and XPS
- Impurities characterisation : Nature Identification and Depth of impurity by using ToF-SIMS
